Diary Entry 31121801

It’s nearly eight on the morning of the year’s last day, and the light outside my window and across the harbor has the orange tinge of glowing mercury vapor, so dawn is still in transit. I’m riding the world through my 70th trip around Sol, and I can’t remember another December when I so anticipated the seating of a new House in DC. A week from now, Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker again, and the committees will be free of the spell of complicit indolence cast on them by Paul Ryan and the GOP Brotherhood. Let the hearings begin! — Kinsale, Co. Cork.
